Founded by Viknesh Silvalingam, AVIP Films is a development-focused indie studio dedicated to crafting atmospheric, character-driven crime stories anchored in the traditions of film noir. Our work centers South Asian protagonists and antagonists — complex figures navigating power, betrayal, and identity in shadowy, emotionally rich worlds. From the earliest spark of an idea to fully packaged pitch materials, we champion underrepresented voices and cinematic anti-heroes rarely seen on screen. Our long-term vision is to redefine genre storytelling by fusing classic noir with culturally resonant narratives, creating a new wave of global cinema rooted in South Asian experience and artistry.
